Things to consider: If you are on a low budget and want to refurbish your bathroom, you can easily change key features to make it look great. Small changes such as replacing or purchasing new bathroom accessories and/or a shower hose can make your bathroom seem brand new. These smaller items will cost very little to purchase, yet will create a new, fresh look.

Like the majority of people, your shower will have a great deal of use and the shower hose itself will get pulled and used every day. Stainless steel are often the preferred material as it looks great and stylish, and can cost very little. However with different finishes now available, such as PVC Coated and Super Stretch, we are positive that you will be able to find the look you are after.

Similarly, if your shower is part of the bath tub, bear in mind that the hose for the shower will need to be high enough to enable the correct level of pressure. A longer hose is ideal, but it can restrict the amount of water that can be pushed through at any one time.

FAQ's

  • What does the 'bore size' mean?
  • This refers to the internal diameter and not the casing which you can see. The majority are around 11mm diameter which is a fairly standard large bore. A larger bore shower hose is better if you have a lower pressure because the friction is reduced so you get a better flow. Smaller bore shower hoses are usually used on high pressure water systems.
  • My shower hose flows very slow is there anything I can do about it?
  • If your shower head is regularly taken down for hair-washing etc then the internal plastic pipe may be kinked. Try straightening it out to see if flow improves. Also, there are two sizes of internal bore for different water systems. If yours is a low pressure system eg your shower head is only about 1 meter below the bottom of your cold water tank, then you may need a replacement hose suitable for a low pressure system.
